Top-Down

RedState.com, the DailyKos of the conservative "grassroots", sells their site to the people behind Regnery Publishing. The conservative movement doesn't exist online. It's a wholly owned subsidiary (now, literally) of the big-money corporatists who have funded the think tanks and talk radio outlets and Fox News and every other piece of conservative infrastructure for the past 40 years.

And some at RedState get it. I'm reading this as more ironic than that site's owners believe probably believe it to be:

Greetings to our new, Great Beltway Overlords! Long have we admired your wisdom, your bravery, your élan, your dashing wit, and the way you can sometimes cut around that Dreadfully Challenging part of the Beltway by taking 50! With your superior Beltway Warriors and the sort of keen insight that comes of having the best and brightest of all 50 states (and territories! and the Blessed District itself!), we shall truly conquer all!

For the Glory of RedState! For the Glory of Eagle! For the Glory of the Red Eagle! Deus lo volt!

Well, congrats to RedState for getting their share of wingnut welfare.

UPDATE: I guess the above comment was by one of RedState's directors. So I guess it was a joke. A joke with a LOT of truth in it.
