Obama Didn't Come Down From Heaven By The Stork!

This attempt at a hit piece by the writer who covered Hillary Clinton at the WaPo is not much of an article. It basically says, "Barack Obama admitted to using drugs in a book he wrote. Will this revelation hurt him?" Obviously, Obama wrote the book himself, so he doesn't think so. And we have someone in the White House right now who unequivocally abused drugs and alcohol, and it didn't exactly hurt his chances (nor should it have). So this is really a made-up article, where the supposed prudishness of the country is really the prudishness of what Beltway journalists THINK of the country, which actually shows their contempt of the same.

Now, I do think the fact that Obama smokes cigarettes has the potential to be MORE of a problem than past drug use. On the other hand, anyone who's seen the outside of an AA or NA meeting on a break knows that pretty much everyone out there smokes. I don't know if it's a means of coping or trading addictions or what, but it's borne out by evidence.

The political correctness over smoking is greater among some people than the political correctness over having once snorted cocaine. I suggest that a pic of Obama smoking has far greater potential to be used in an attack ad than text from his memoir "Dreams From My Father" about his past.
