Blue House At The Brew House

This week marks the California Democratic Party convention, and I'll be going down to San Diego on Friday, where I'll be trying to blog as much about the proceedings as possible. One of the things that the California blogosphere will be doing there is a blograiser for Rep. Jerry McNerney and the next Representative from the state, Charlie Brown. We're calling it Blue House at the Brewhouse, and $40 gets you in the door and mingling with Brown and McNerney. Even if you're not in San Diego, you can participate by donating at the link, and we're hoping to include a live webcast element as well (more as it develops).

Obviously, early money is important for Congressional campaigns, both to show strong support and scare off potential challengers. I have met Charlie Brown and gotten to know people who work for Jerry McNerney, and both of them are great grassroots candidates who are excellent standard-bearers for the progressive movement. They also prove that strong Democratic candidates can compete anywhere in this state, which is the future of this party.
