Latest Sopranos Blogging Ever

With the reason that I left town happening at the same time as the final episode of The Sopranos, I wasn't able to see it until now.

Why does everybody want closure on our cultural artifacts? That was a great ending because, in a sense, the show never ends. It lives on with the different scenarios that the audience will place on it. I have absolutely no problem wondering whether Tony looked up to see Meadow or the guy who's about to whack him. Although I always had trouble with the fact that Lorraine Bracco was paid money to act, The Sopranos was a big jumble of triumphs, tragedies, laughs, tears, obsessions, fluff, superstitions, rivalries, outrageous cruelty, and family. In other words, it was like life. And life isn't neat.

It was a fitting end.

UPDATE: This, however, is very true, and perhaps one of the cooler things that can only come from the blogosphere, as Ezra Klein takes issue with the study that caused Dr. Melfi to kick Tony out the door - for SUBSTANTIVE reasons. Awesome.
