Is Lloyd Carr Fired Yet?

I suppose I could not slink through this Labor Day weekend without commenting on the horror that is the University of Michigan football program. Yes, Appalachian State is a good program, but thinking that they should have been in that game is just a pipe dream. And what nobody seems to be mentioning is that ASU scored 4 touchdowns and 2 field goals, and Michigan scored 4 touchdowns and 2 field goals. If Lloyd Carr doesn't go for two in the late third quarter for absolutely no reason (what, he thought there wouldn't be enough time to score twice?) the game goes to OT.

Michigan also never does well against quarterbacks who can run, and haven't for around 15 years. (Which ensures they'll be slaughtered by Oregon next week). How do you not adjust to that?

I don't know why Lloyd Carr still has a job. The national championship is 10 years in the rear-view mirror; lately we have 3 straight losses to Ohio State, 3 straight bowl losses and the most humiliating defeat in NCAA history. With a fully stocked roster.

This has been an angry monthly obligatory sports post.
