Hold The Berger

This hiring of Sandy Berger by the Clinton campaign really is one of the stupidest things she could have done. The guy stole classified reports from the National Archives (though he never took originals, it should be mentioned) and stuck them underneath a dumpster somewhere in Washington. More than that, it's a talking point to the extreme on the right that this guy is as dirty as the day is long, and the Clinton campaign hiring him feeds into that. Looked at another way, this could be the flip side to the Bush Administration recycling criminals, rewarding loyalty and dismissing critics, but is that really what we want in our nominee?

What insight could Sandy Berger poissibly have that outweighs his criminality?
