Liars

According to Stephen Hadley, Bush learned about the NIE's key judgment on Iran a few months ago. Didn't matter - he still continued to pretend that Iran was about to pull the nuclear trigger any second now and start WWIII.

What you have to conclude from this is that the Administration, and really neoconservatives in general, HAVE NO INTEREST in global peace and security. When good news comes from the intelligence community (and the more I read, the more I think the intelligence community pushed for this to come out on their own; they didn't want to get burned like they did in 2002), the immediate reaction is to ignore it because good news doesn't serve their goals. I wish some leading Democrat would make this argument, and loudly.

UPDATE: Indeed, this news about Iran comes at a time when leading neocon Richard Perle is actively recruiting exiles for regime change in both Iran and Syria, in much the way that he helped groom noted fabulist Ahmad Chalabi for power. The new figures have just as little credibility.
