The Sadrists are still a social and electoral force within Iraq, the Dawa elements still want to crush them, the Sunnis still don't trust the Shiites, the unity "government" is still non-functional.

McSame and his cast of characters are content to go down with this ship, but every time they put on the rose-colored glasses and sing the praises of the surge, something like this happens. And it's not abstract - 51 people DIED today. For no reason. Because of an unnecessary invasion and occupation.
