Obama Owning Message

This week we've seen a brand-new Barack Obama, one who has seized the moment when leadership was needed and struck powerfully to indict those responsible and set himself up as someone who has the intelligence and character to change things for the better. It's kind of crazy how he's gone into overdrive this week.

The riffs on the stump are crisp and funny:

Obama keeps hitting McCain on his claim that "the fundamentals of our economy are strong," and, in what sounds like a suggestion that McCain is befuddled, repeats a now-standard stump line: "They sent him back a few hours later to clean up his remarks."

Obama also quoted McCain's vow to take on the "old boys' network" in Washington, adding:

The ol' boy network? In the McCain campaign, that's called a staff meeting.

And this confidence has shown through to another solid ad on energy.

When this election is about issues, as it is this week, Obama wins hands-down.
