Meanwhile, Mike Murphy (of all people) gets it right that McCain has no business being in Iowa in the first place. It's a sure loser for McCain and a total waste of resources, and just another opportunity for him to get angry.

Of course, his NPR interview this morning went the same way. The campaign narrative got set when nobody was looking. McCain is running a dishonorable campaign and the Palin pick was a stunt, and everybody knows it. It must be killing him at some level that he's been unmasked. He's now denying his slanders within minutes of saying them. What an empty suit.
