Petty Theft

It certainly looks like someone stole the President's watch in Albania. Start watching at around :50 in.



OK, I looked at it again, and it might have fallen on the ground while someone was trying to steal it. Both Bush and a couple of the Secret Service agents look down at the ground at a moment where the watch seems to come off. But I certainly don't see anybody stooping over to pick the watch up. The AP has somebody saying that's what happened.

At least the metaphor only stayed at "The emperor has no watch" and not "The emperor has no clothes."

Of course, you can write 50 lines about "he can't even keep his own belongings safe, how can he keep us safe" and the like. This may be his Jimmy Carter-with-the-killer-rabbit moment.
